Trinity knot post earrings in sterling silver with freshwater pearl.

The Trinity Knot is one of the most recognized Celtic symbols and usually signifies the Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The number three is sacred to the Celts, however, and the Trinity Knot (or triquetra) predated Christianity. This knot can mean Mind, Body, Spirit or Past, Present, Future. It also represents the three stages of life: Maiden, Mother, Wise Woman.

My entrepreneurial journey began at age 11 in my mother's dress shop in Northern Ireland. After moving to America following a field hockey romance in 1978, I was working as a Civil Engineer in Pennsylvania. When my Dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness, I realized how difficult it was to squeeze in trips back home. Dad's illness became the catalyst for starting a business that would allow me to travel home routinely.

In February 1985, Donegal Square was born—a cultural bridge inspired by my Irish upbringing. Over the decades, my wife Linda and I have developed the shop and helped establish the Celtic Cultural Alliance and Celtic Classic Festival. Today, we've created a warm haven where visitors are "instantly transported across the Atlantic to Ireland...no passport required," offering authentic Celtic gifts in an atmosphere that feels like visiting the old country with friends.
