Vintage Irish Linen Celtic Double Damask Table runner. This Old Mill Linen Table runner has a beautiful Celtic pattern which is guaranteed to be spun, woven, and bleached(in the sun) and finished in Ireland.
Irish Linen Double Damask is woven into each cloth. The outer border is composed of the well-known motifs of Ancient Irish Art, which reached it's highest exemplification in the book of Kells. At the corners is an emblematic figure of an Irish Colleen, with harp and wolfhound representing the Spirit of Ireland, which at intervals are woven views of Ross Castle at Killarney and the Round Tower on Devenish Island. In the center is the map of Ireland, encircled by an ornament in Celtic style, and this is surrounded by a panel containing Heraldic Shields, and the Arms of Ulster, Munster, Connaught, and Leinster - interwoven in delightful harmony with Celtic strapwork and shamrocks. The Richlin Irish Linen mill symbol is also woven into the corners of the tablecloth. This is quite obviously one of the higher quality Irish Linen Mills.
